1955: His sons Heinz and Peter Schmitz found the Gebrüder Schmitz GmbH (Schmitz Brothers Co.) that takes over the slaughtering and sausage production. Pictured here with Peter Schmitz senior (2nd from the right).

1911: Peter Schmitz senior founds the country butchery Schmitz.
He is pictured here with his wife, Katharina.

2004: Expansion of the state-of-the art fresh meat cutting operation in the west of North Rhine-Westphalia.

2008: At the Intermeat Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, Schmitz will introduce new and innovative convenience and snack products, as well as a comprehensive range of traditional meat and sausage products of the highest quality.

1995: The third generation of the Schmitz family takes over the traditional Cologne business of Gierath and Steffens. GS Schmitz GmbH Company is founded and produces in Straeten and in Cologne at the Fühlinger See Lake.

1986: The production location in Heinsberg-Straeten is expanded.

1978: Move to a new store.

1958: Katharina Schmitz in the old store of the country butchery in Heinsberg Straeten.
